Memorial Day

Memorial Day, a day of remembrance 

A time to honor heroes and their bravery 

To remember those who gave their lives

And those who still protect us with their lives.

We come together,  mourning our losses

But also celebrating the lives of the brave 

Honoring the fallen with parades and flags

And solemnly remembering their heroic acts.

We think of them in solemn reverie

And know they rest in peace with God

We honor their courage and valor

And thank them for their sacrifices 

We decorate their graves with flags

And pray for the piece they fought for

We thank the living for their services 

And remember the fallen in our thoughts

Never forget the courage of the brave 

The lives that were given in service 

We stand in silent gratitude 

On this sacred Memorial Day
